Description

8vo.  7 pp.  Wrappers.   Title printed on p. 1.

Though historians define 1757 as a period of peace in Turkey, the writer relates that oppressive taxation had led 40,000 people to rebel, and the Grand Sultan had fled to Russia where he had raised troops.   A lack of leadership had caused confusion, and various military leaders vied for power.   An explosion at a garrison had killed thousands.
