An account of the expedition led by Francisco Requena as head of the Spanish commission formed to to map and establish the boundaries between the Spanish and Portuguese territories in Amazonia from the mouth of the River Javarí to the Río Negro. His deliberations stemmed from the 1777 Treaty of San Ildefonso, drawn up between Spain and Portugal to establish territorial claims.
